Mr. Fontheim advises global companies and nonprofit organizations regarding global public policy and corporate social responsibility. His pro bono engagements include extensive work with human rights and anti-poverty organizations.
Mr. Fontheim serves on the Executive Committee of the Alliance to End Hunger, Advisory Board of InterAction (the umbrella group of development and poverty NGOs), board of directors of New DEAL (successor to the Democratic Leadership Council), board of directors of GoodWeave (child labor rights NGO), board of directors of the African IP Trust, and advisory board of the U.S.-Bangladesh Advisory Council.
Mr. Fontheim previously served on the President’s Advisory Committee on Trade Policy and Negotiations, on the U.S. Trade Representative’s Trade Advisory Committee on Africa, and the State Department’s Advisory Committee on International Economic Policy.
Mr. Fontheim has published numerous articles, including on international trade, corporate social responsibility, and labor policy. These articles have appeared in Blueprint magazine, PR Week, various scholarly journals, and he authored the chapter on European telecommunications policy and regulation in the American Enterprise Institute series, “The United States Faces a United Europe,” and the concluding chapter of Trade Policy: The Lawyer’s Perspective of which he was co-editor.
Mr. Fontheim has served as an advisor on trade, economic and foreign policy to national and congressional political campaigns.
